were gary (lower case intended) is possibly the silliest thing ever on the twitter.
On 13th January 2014, two words typed by someone on bookface changed everything. While tweeting some #facebooknews updates, I tweeted the following:

Immediately, there were replies of “were gary”, started (as usual) by @BiscuitAhoy. People started tweeting “were gary” to each other, then making images with “were gary” in them. Incredible scenes.
